When I began to hear thoughts from my parents and leading homeschool authorities (like
Jonathan Lindvall) about "courtship" and the idea of "betrothal" I
must admit, I was a bit skeptical. I mean, how can something that seems to be so old
fashion work in today's world? Currently, I am attending a state university 100
miles away from home and my parents. One of my biggest questions, before reading
this book was, how is courtship feasible in my life? This book adressed all of my
doubts and questions.
To begin with, Eric and Leslie Ludy describe their relationship: How they began as
friends, developed a closer relationship within the supervision of their parents, and
eventually fell in love and got married. It was remarkable to hear about how
perfectly God worked in their lives to bring them together. What struck me as most
impresssive about this narration was that it was not written as a self-help or how-to
book. It offered Godly advice from those who had experienced the everyday troubles
that young people face today.
Time after time the Ludy's urged to "give God the pen" and he will write a
beautiful love story. After reading this book, you and your children will be encouraged to
live according to the best that God has planned for you.
